On the 18th and 19th of October in Richmond, British Columbia, Michael Vollmer, P.Eng. will be delivering two, one day seminars on the use of ISO Standards in meeting the requirements of the Construction Standards for Small Vessels (TP1332). The focus will be on ISO 11812, 12216 and 12217-1 which are mandated for small commercial vessels, less than 15 tons. Classroom review will be followed with a practical examination of two small commercial vessels. 
The venue will be the Shelter Island Marina in the meeting room above Tugboat Annie’s Pub. Access to the Standards as well as TP1332 will be available through www.RuleFinder.net. WiFi is available so bring your laptop!
The first day is targeted at industry with Transport Canada Marine Safety personnel attending the second day, though accommodation can be made on either day if needed.
Michael is a naval architect and yacht designer. He chairs the Canadian Advisory Committee to ISO TC 188 for the Standards Council of Canada and is the Chief Inspector for the International Marine Certification Institute, a Belgian Notified Body responsible for Certifying vessels to the EU’s Recreational Craft Directive.
